Green Tidings: A Natural Deodorant That Actually Works

In our journey to use healthy products in and on our bodies, some things have been easier to swap out than others. One of the hardest things for me to switch over was my deodorant. I have always been really good at sweating. What can I say, it’s a skill.

When I played sports in high school, I distinctly remember buying stronger and stronger deodorant because my old stuff “wasn’t working” to keep me from sweating. Hearing that the aluminum is what helped me not sweat, I started choosing deodorants with the highest aluminum content I could find.

Dumb move, kid. Dumb move.

Oh how I wish that I had known then what I know now about deodorant. Hindsight is 20/20 though isn’t it?

In all honesty, I have lost track of how many clean deodorants I have tried over the years. The vast majority of them have been a fatty failure, and there were honestly some that made me stink worse.

I realized early on that natural deodorant was not going to keep me from sweating, and that’s ok. It is actually good for your body to sweat. It is how God designed you to detox and cool yourself.

However, we are excited to tell you that we found one that works. It really, REALLY works!

May I introduce you to, Green Tidings Natural Deodorant!

Green Tidings Natural Deodorant Review

Disclaimer: We were given this product to try for free in exchange for an honest review. However, just like with everything else, we will only give you our gut honest opinion. Our Mamas didn't tolerate lying, remember?

First, let’s talk about the stellar ingredients in this stuff: (From their website)

Tapioca Starch: From the cassava plant. Gluten-free, high in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Soothes, softens, and moisturizes the skin, while absorbing moisture. Deodorizing, healing, helps clear acne.

Coconut Oil: Anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory. Contains essential fatty acids and antioxidants, and is very moisturizing.

Baking Soda: Absorbs perspiration, anti-bacterial, natural deodorant.

Shea Butter (Unrefined, Fair Trade) : Anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial. Contains vitamins A, E, and F, proteins, fatty acids, and healing minerals, and can help with dry skin without clogging pores.

Magnesium Chloride (Magnesium Oil): Anti-deodorant. Magnesium is also an extremely important mineral for health. Contains only raw, ultra-pure magnesium chloride.

Wildcrafted Candelilla Wax: Natural thickener and moisturizer. Grown in the wild without pesticides. A vegan alternative to beeswax.

Lavender Essential Oil: (Lavender scent only) : 100% pure– not cut with carriers or water. Calming, antiseptic, and can help with acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and inflammation.

All of these ingredients are not only safe but beneficial to your body. You are not just avoiding the junk, you are nourishing your body.

Our number one resource learning about the safety of ingredients is EWG's Skin Deep Database. When you put these ingredients into EWG Skin Deep database, you will see that they ALL score a 1 which means that there are zero identified concerns with these ingredients.

Bravo for Green Tidings!

We BOTH tried this deodorant. I (Faith) used both the lavender and the unscented versions. We both found them to be extremely effective at eliminating stinky pits in both sweaty athletic situations and nervous sweaty situations.

When we used the Green Tidings Deodorant according to the instructions and put it on right after getting out of the shower it was most effective. However, it still drastically reduced odor even when applied to already stinky pits.

I applied it once immediately after shaving my pits and did experience some mild skin irritation. Once again when I followed the manufactures instructions (go figure, Faith) and waited a few hours to apply after showering, I did not have any irritation.

The “unscented” really is pretty relatively unscented. There IS still some detectable scent because Green Tidings uses unrefined ingredients for maximum purity and effectiveness.

I am not generally a huge fan of lavender as a scent. I don’t mind it terribly, but it is not, in general, my favorite. HOWEVER, the lavender scent of green tidings lavender deodorant is gentle enough that I actually didn’t mind it.

This deodorant goes on smoother than almost every other natural deodorant I have tried. However, there are still a few little chunks of deodorant on your skin. If it bothers you, they will easily rub into the skin for a smooth finish. Green Tidings recommends only doing 1-2 swipes. As with most natural deodorants, I have tried, less is more. I tried doing it as recommended AND I also tried using more than recommended. I didn’t see any difference, so you might as well use less product and only do the recommended 1-2 swipes.

I love that this comes in a roll-up “regular” deodorant packaging. It is easier than using your fingers for application. I must confess though, the very first tube of Green Tidings deodorant that I ordered had a broken roller. BUT when I contacted Green Tidings about it, they remedied the situation immediately. Not only did they work to fix my problem, but they worked to prevent it from future batches by asking for the lot number of my product.

Green Tidings deodorant is a great bang for your buck. At just $7.99 for a 1 oz container or $14.99 for 2.7oz , you can make sure you love it before purchasing a bigger size.

Disclaimer: If you purchase through these links, we will get a small percentage of the sale at no additional cost to you. Again, we would recommend these products without getting "paid" for it.

We are excited to wholeheartedly recommend Green Tiding’s Deodorant!
